Maureen Halson was the daughter of a fishing boat captain from Gloucester, Massachusetts.
One day, after being told that she was not old enough to sail with her father, she hid on board, with the bad luck that the ship was wrecked.
Maureen drowned. But miraculously she was rescued from death and taken to the underwater city of Mermea, where Queen Merma made her her protégé.
Maureen Marine helped to protect her new home from its hostile neighbors and other threats.
She fell in love with, Algernon "Algie" Kelp, the youth partner of Barry Kudasiewizc (known as the adventurer Barracuda).
Maureen and Algie joined the Tyro Team.
POWERS & WEAPONS
By bringing her back to life, Maureen gained the ability to breathe underwater. In addition, their physiology was improved to cope with the cold and extreme underwater pressure.
Maureen was a good tactic, as demonstrated when she devised the plan that defeated the Miromen.
