Dryas, son of Ares, was a native of Calydon and was one of the participants in the Calydon boar hunt. Some time after returning from the hunt, his brother Tereus killed him in an attempt to circumvent the prophecy that Tereus's son Itys would be killed by someone related to him. Ares brought his son's soul to the Aeropagus, his mountain of power, where Dryas would serve him for all eternity. However, during World War II, the violence of the conflict was so great that it aroused the interest of Ares, who decided to send Dryas to fight on both sides. Revealing himself against the God of War, Dryas decided to side with the Allies, even knowing that by doing so he was sealing his fate.

Dryas had superhuman strength and increased resistance to damage.
