Tyrannus was a criminal from the 37th century. He and his army of acolytes traveled through time to infiltrate and take over the White House in 1941, intending to join the Axis powers and thus dominate the planet Earth. In the future, scientist Allan Bruce developed the Chronopticon, a machine that allowed him to detect the chronal anomaly caused by Tyrannus. Space Patrol Lieutenant Jon Gorden volunteered to travel back in time and stop Tyrannus. Something unexpected happened and Jon's body was bombarded by tremendous chronal energies that gave him incredible powers that Agent Gorden later used to foil Tyrannus' plan. He and his minions were locked up in a 37th century prison, though he would soon break out...
