January, 1962. Scientist-adventurer Jack Kenson was making a sub-orbital flight in an experimental spacecraft of his invention when he was surprised by an abnormal flux of cosmic rays. Chaos broke out in the ship, but after a few minutes everything seemed to return to normal. However, Kenson discovered that his genetic structure had been altered and he began to demonstrate the uncanny ability to alter his size at will. Kenson added crime fighting to his list of occupations, calling himself the Red Comet.
Later, Jack met Marian Michaels, a singer from Las Vegas, while investigating the criminal group known as the Claw.
Kenson outfitted Marian with a special suit and, calling herself Black Butterfly, she became his partner in adventures (and his lover).
After a while, the two got married and soon after were recruited by Jack Battle to become DANGER agents and members of the Lawmen.
POWERS & WEAPONS
Kenson can increase his size at will, easily reaching the proportions of a 20-story building, gaining superhuman strength and endurance in the process. Jack can also shrink his size while maintaining his original strength. Kenson also uses high-tech equipment of his own design, such as his jetpack and his spaceship.
