When young police officer Gary Kennedy and his brother were gunned down by a gang of criminals, Gary's last words were:
“I'll square this if I have to return from the grave!
As Heaven is my witness!”
Several nights later, at midnight, Kennedy returned from the grave as a ghost, and after fulfilling his vengeful vow he continued to rise from his grave to mete out justice to wrongdoers on behalf of the dead victims, whose souls begged him to act as the Wraith. Gary Kennedy was a Crime Smashers member and during World War II he was also part of the Battle Squadron.
