HISTORY 

The Barghest is a mythical dark humanoid beast with fiery red eyes, a nocturnal predator. It is said that it can take on human form and that its howl is a harbinger of certain death. 

Like the vampire, the Barghest is unable to cross rivers and preys on lonely unsuspecting victims whom it stalks in the narrow alleys... 

Sir Giles of Clewsby, an evil knight in the time of King Arthur Pendragon, received the curse of the Barghest by the sorcerer Black Barton, but was defeated by Sir Brian (the Silver Paladin) and Lady Tarna. But Black Barton escaped to the future (mid-30s of the 20th century) where he would once again use the curse of the Barghest on other human hosts.

POWERS & WEAPONS 

The Barghest is a large and powerful beast, capable of walking on two or four legs. He is strong as a grizzly bear, fast as a panther, has the eyesight of an owl and the ear of a bat, and is more cunning than a wolf. It has terrible jaws, capable of splitting an average man in half and enormous claws with which it ruthlessly cuts its victims to pieces. As a result of the curse, the wounds inflicted by the Barghest are very difficult to heal, if not directly fatal.

HISTORY 

Black Barton was an evil sorcerer in the time of the legendary Camelot, sworn enemy of Sir Brian (The Silver Knight), Merlin, King Arthur Pendragon and their Knights of the Round Table.

Black Barton transformed a traitorous knight into the Barghest, a savage and diabolical creature and one of the Silver Knight's worst enemies.

Black Barton conspired, cast powerful curses and concocted evil schemes, but he was always defeated.

Finally, he used his magic to escape to the future, to the 1930s, but the Silver Knight, thanks to Merlin's magic, would hunt him down to prevent his evil from taking root in the 20th century.

HISTORY 

Sir Brian was a valiant knight of King Arthur's court who wore an armor and a sword both enchanted by Merlin, the Druid. He fought alongside the other Knights of the Round Table, such as Sir Gawain and Sir Kay, against the Saxons and the Vandals. When the Saxons were driven out and the Pax Arthuriana prevailed, he met his strength against evil knights, warlocks, and monsters like the Barghest. His lady was Tarna, a brave warrior in her own right who often aided him in battle and once wore the enchanted silver armor herself. 

Sir Brian chased Black Barton, a diabolical wizard, through a time vortex that led him to the 1930s where he joined other heroes to form The Outlaws. When Sir Brian returned to Camelot (in the past) he found that Lady Tarna had married another knight and, feeling that was no longer his place, he returned to the 20th century, where he was part of the Battle Squadron. There he would meet his future wife, Susan Page, aka Flame-Girl.

The enchanted armor made him incredibly resistant to damage and the silver sword was capable of cutting through virtually any substance. His steed was the peerless Mordru, endowed with intelligence unmatched among horses.

HISTORY 

Susan was a fearless reporter who covered the adventures of the hero the Flame, helping him on many occasions. Susan was in love with the hero, but what she didn't know is that her good friend, the biochemist Kip Adams (secret identity of the Flame), was secretly and crazy in love with her. 

In the end, the Flame was killed during a skirmish and Susan received a letter from Kip where he confessed his dual identity and gave her instructions to replicate the serum that gave him powers as a parting gift. Susan accepted that legacy and became the second The Flame. 

She joined the Battle Squadron until the end of World War II and there she met her future husband, Sir Brian of Camelot, aka Brian Silver, aka the Silver Knight. 

POWERS & WEAPONS 

The Serum created by Kip Adams had a different effect on Susan, who gained the ability to control fire and heat. In this way, she was able to raise her own body temperature without taking damage, to the point where she could burst into flames or melt bullets. She could also control and direct any flame in her presence. With time and practice, Susan was able to focus her power enough to use it for flight.
