HISTORY 

During the 1930s, Derry Bronson, a young Canadian who had been confined to a wheelchair by polio, began to dream of being a great crime-fighting hero. 

Thanks to the newspapers he knew that his dreams were reality, and that every time he fell asleep he was not only capable of walking again, but also of the most incredible feats. 

Derry met a boy, Nemo McCay, who also possessed sleep-related powers and took him in as his sidekick. Their career as mystery men was very long and fruitful. They were members of the Crime Smashers and Battle Squadron. 

POWERS & WEAPONS 

Basically, when Derry fell asleep, he was able to manifest an idealized, enhanced version of himself, the Doc Dreamer. This materialized dream version of his persona was physically perfect, the greatest athlete, with the sharpest senses and total control over his body. Doc Dreamer also carried a pair of pistols that didn't need to be reloaded and didn't kill but put those hit by his bullets to sleep peacefully.
